In a world where TikTok sound bites are some of the most effective Public Relations Campaigns, why should you only be worried about written press in the Press Corps? Skills in Digital Design (Canva or Adobe), Social Media Marketing, and Brand fluency will be necessary at GatorMUN XXI!Students will be expected to take the role of the Creative team for a Publication by putting together a Brand Kit (short 1 page paper about design choices for their brand and style) prior to GatorMUN XXI. During GatorMUN XXI, students will be expected to debate and design throughout the weekend helping their publication and GatorMUN XXI be #techsavvy. Students can expect to create Social Media posts each session related to committees and events at GatorMUN XXI.
Emily Mims (any/all) is a third year Senior studying History with minors in Women and Gender Studies, Public Relations, and Education Studies at the University of Florida. Her love for Model United Nations began in high school when she first began traveling to Florida colleges for conferences and fell in love with debating and engaging solutions to a myriad of topics. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they started a student organization, Women in MUN, to help promote equity within Model UN through resource distribution, panel discussions, training conferences, and our monthly publications. On the UF team, Emily Mims is proud to have been the President for the last two years. For Work, Mims manages the instagrams of @ufoffcampuslife and @ufhistory as a Social Media Intern. She is also an intern for Alachua County Public Schools designing History curriculum for Florida students! Her most formative experiences in college have been her tenure in Model UN and her Summer as an Orientation leader (Go Gators!!). When she is not doing Model UN, they are likely hanging out at MUN house (patent pending), drinking tea (jasmine over everything), or discussing the work drama from her Summer at Buca Di Beppo. She cannot wait to see great debate, amazing posts, and the creativity each of you bring.
