About:

Jason Salguero is a third-year student at Florida International University, where they are pursuing a degree in International Relations, Political Science, and Philosophy, along with a certification in Law, Ethics, and Society. They have been involved in Model UN since middle school and currently serves as one of the Head Delegates for FIU’s MUN travel team. They are known for his previous roles as Secretary-General for last year’s FIMUN and as Director for the International Maritime Organization committee at GatorMUN. This year, Jason has taken on new responsibilities as the Assistant Director of Marketing for FIMUN and as the Director for the United Nations Trusteeship Council committee.

As a delegate, Jason Salguero typically competes in General Assembly committees but has also participated in various Crisis committees, including a Sesame Street-themed one, as well as Specialized committees like the UNSC and Press Corps, which they particularly enjoy. It is evident that Jason is deeply involved in Model UN. Outside of this, they have a passion for reading and writing about philosophy, with a focus on political theory, feminism, and existentialism. Although they strive to read a new book each week, Jason admits to having struggled with this challenge on several occasions. Jason also enjoys going to the gym and playing badminton, which they perform with some degree of skill.
