Kings off the Court: The NBA Board of Governors in 2011
About:
Alonzo Rojas is a second-year Electrical Engineering major at the University of Florida, and is beyond excited to be the director for this specialized committee! He was born in South Florida but mostly grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has competed in Model UN for six years across the high school and collegiate circuit, including staffing at GatorMUN XXI and SunMUN II, and working as the Chief of Staff for SunMUN III. Outside of MUN, Alonzo is involved in various engineering clubs on campus as well as the Venezuelan Student Association. For fun, you’ll find him watching the Miami Heat struggle to win regular season games, losing ranked games on R6, and finishing the Mini Crossword as fast as possible. He can’t wait to bring this committee to you all and have a great weekend in Gainesville!
The nba board of governors in 2011:
The National Basketball Association is facing the beginning of a new era. Superteams rising and falling. The writing of new legends, and the closing of old. As the association continues to grow on the global stage, more and more people want to get a cut of the cash cow that is professional basketball. Whether it be players, owners, fans, or even referees, money has never been important in the NBA. Considering the myriad of issues that come with the hunt for money, what group could possibly be more qualified to deal with them than a group of billionaires? As the league restructures their collective bargaining agreement, the team owners will have to tackle contract negotiations, catch sneaky referees, and just try to win basketball games to ensure their success in this new era.
