Ready. Set. Racers, take the reins! Constantinople, the greatest city under the caelum now and ever shall be, is currently a powder keg for tensions. That damned Emperor Justinian I, whose taxation and appointments have, unexpected to him, strained his relations with the people. How could not sit uneasy on the throne as the people murmur demands for political action? Meanwhile, in the bowels of the Hippodrome, the Blues and the Greens race chariots against one another. Following the completion of the race, they engage in their customary post-match brawls, as is tradition. However, this new political climate is cultivating an appetite for change in the factions’ relationship, perhaps in a way that does not work in Justinian’s favor. Both feel personally slighted by Justinian’s actions, and have begun communications for future action. They are the fast and the sometimes too furious, but maybe, just maybe, the power of family could prevail in the factions’ favor.

Salvēte delegates, my name is Jack Lopez and I am so excited to be your CD for this year’s GatorMUN! I am a junior at Florida State University who has been competing with their MUN program for about two and a half years, along with some high school MUN. I am also an International Affairs and Political Science student hoping to go into law. When I am being a real person, I enjoy working out, cooking, running, studying for the LSAT, pretending to have hobbies, painting, and teaching myself Catalan (extremely poorly) and the keyboard (also extremely poorly). If you could not tell, I am someone who values my creative outlets, and I hope that your participation in this committee is a way for you to express yourselves. Delegates who give themselves the freedom to enjoy their time will do well, I can promise you that.
