The Mo Winograd Scholarship Fund

This year, we have chosen to honor the legacy of Maureen “Mo” Winograd, a lifelong activist and community leader. She served as a board member of the Naples Council on World Affairs (NCWA) and was a devoted leader of Great Decisions and the Southwest Florida Model UN, where she poured her talent and warmth into programs that elevated civil discourse and opened doors for young people. Mo earned master’s degrees in political science and criminal justice and spent 25 years as executive director of the Essex County Bar Association in New Jersey. She also served as secretary, treasurer, and co-founder of the Legal Services Foundation of Essex County (1983–2018). In Collier County, she chaired the ACLU Committee on Public Education and Information (2008–2018) and was vice president of the ACLU of Collier County (2010–2018). She was also active with the Naples Women’s Giving Circle, always advocating to level the playing field for students with financial need. Funds raised at GatorMUN XXIII from candy grams and generous donations will go directly to the Mo Winograd Scholarship Fund to support the Naples Council on World Affairs and their annual conference, SWFLMUN.
