Every day, millions of Americans rely on a healthcare system shaped by decisions made far beyond the walls of a hospital. Leaders from pharmaceutical companies, insurance providers, hospital systems, government agencies, and technology firms play a major role in determining how care is delivered, who can access it, and what the future of healthcare will look like. As mounting challenges place increasing pressure on the American healthcare system, these stakeholders have been called together for the United States Healthcare Emergency Summit. Delegates will represent some of the nation’s most influential healthcare organizations as they respond to emerging developments, negotiate partnerships, and compete to advance their priorities while shaping the future of healthcare. Combining collaborative problem solving with interactive committee elements, delegates will have opportunities to build influence, respond to unexpected challenges, and leave a lasting impact on the direction of the industry. The future of American healthcare is not decided by any one organization alone - and now, that responsibility is in your hands.

Committee Description:

Kayla Bello is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Economics with minors in Health Administration and Business. Since joining Model UN during her freshman year of college, she has spent the past four years involved in MUN at UF, directing a committee at GatorMUN each year (shoutout to all of her DISEC and WHO delegates!) and most recently serving as Secretary-General of SunMUN IV. Beyond MUN, Kayla works as a UF Gator Welcome Guide (if you have taken a UF tour you have probably seen her), has gained experience through healthcare strategy and consulting-focused roles, and leads the Office of Political Affairs within the Hispanic Student Association. Outside of school and work, she enjoys exploring new Gainesville nature trails, trying new workout classes, listening to music, and spending time with friends. GatorMUN has been one of the most meaningful parts of her college experience, and as this will be her final conference, she is excited to share one last committee with delegates and hopes to create a memorable experience filled with thoughtful debate, creativity, and plenty of fun along the way!
